This song was written from Psalms 113:3. The groove was inspired from a song Justo Almario wrote entitled, "Abrazos y Besos." Through my many blessed years of playing worship music with Justo at our church, Christian Assembly, I learned many Latin rhythms which I did my best to incorporate into my songwriting.
A funny story about writing this song is: I was giving my son Jake a bath when he was about one year old (he's 33 now), and suddenly the whole song came to me. I had to keep singing it so I wouldn't forget it. I always tell songwriters to be ready whenever inspiration strikes!
Regarding this video, I always wanted to play this song with both Justo and Abraham Laboriel, two of my biggest heroes, and now here it is. What a joy! And yes, Bryan Taylor did an incredible job on percussion as always. A huge thank you to all three of you, to Carlos Gallardo-Candia for a great mix, and to all our TWM Partners and donors who make all of this and so much more in our ministry possible!
