Ink cartridges on Canon Maxify series printers are preset to be replaced only when the printer thinks it is time. Therefore, it is impossible to change ink cartridge unless you do it the tricky bypass way shown in this video. I needed to replace ink cartridges which I knew needed to be replaccd, however the printer does not have a function to just command the ink replacement. I am not sure why Canon did this, but there may be a reason.
In any case, let me show you how to manually change ink cartridges without hurting your printer.
