The operator loads timber components to a fixture and then a 4-axis MOTOMAN robot from YASKAWA that is equipped with an automatic nailing device applies nails to the pallet. The fixture is held in a MOTOMAN servo controlled positioner which automatically rotates so the pallet can be processed on the opposite site. At the end of the cycle the robot unloads the finished pallet using a simple fork and places it onto a stack on table at the other end of the cell. The robot works between multiple stations and therefore the operator load cycle has not bearing on the output of the cell.
