Communications and Digital Technologies Minister Mondli Gungubele has called on the nation to embrace efforts towards digital transformation with the aim of strengthening the country's economy and addressing unemployment, inequality and poverty. Gungubele was joined by members of the academia, government and business at the official launch of the Tshwane University of Technology Artificial Intelligence hub at its main campus in Pretoria. TUT has been working with the government and the University of Johannesburg to develop the first Artificial Intelligence hub. The hub is expected to serve as a common base for knowledge generation, research and development. Joining us now to elaborate more on this issue is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation at the Tshwane University of Technology; Dr Vathiswa Papu-Zamxaka.
