Part 1/2 of Evin Aghassi's first visit to the Assyrian villages along the Khabour in Syria in August 1991. Aghassi's trip to Syria was made possible through the intervention of General Kuryakos, an Assyrian high-ranking officer in the Syrian Army, who pulled the strings within the Syrian Government to make Aghassi's visit to Syria possible.
The zurna player (makhyana d'zurna) is Lazar Youkhanna, father of Romyo Youkhanna.
