This is the easiest way to set the air gap on an ignition coil and get it perfect every time. You can reuse these strips again and again, just keep several around or in your tool box or work area. Bring the flywheel around to where the magnet attracts the coil and with the bolts loose pull one side of the coil away and insert the plastic strip, then do the same thing on the other side. Tighten the bolts holding the coil square to the flywheel( the magnet helps you keep it square) and then pull both strips out with pliers. There should be some resistance to pulling the plastic milk jug tabs/strips out on each side if you have done it right... and save the milk jug strips and use them again and again. I have used this method to set the air gap on hundreds of mowers. Simple, and correct every time.
