Here is an Apple //e that I just finished restoring and was very happy with the results so I figured I would share! I am actually going to be selling this system as I already have a nice //e in the collection.
The following has been done to the //e to bring it back to its former glory:
1. Removed all plastics (including every key on the keyboard) to soak and clean.
2. Replaced 3 key switches by soldering in replacements.
3. Replaced RIFA filter cap in power supply and verified all output voltages under load
4. Used MECC Computer Inspector to calibrate Disk ][ drives to 299 RPM and cleaned heads/drive internals.
5. Cleaned main board slots and sockets with contact cleaner after removing all chips and cards - then cleaned the entire board in ultrasonic cleaner. It looks great now!
It is always hard to sell these systems after putting all the work into restoring them and getting attached, but I need to make more space (and already have a few complete //e setups so this one is looking for a new loving home :-)
