Usually when we do nomas, vratas and pujas at home, we put a coconut on Kalasha and perform puja. Take Copper or Silver Kalasha and decorate with turmeric and kukum. Pour a little water in the Kalasha and add turmeric,Kumkum, sandalwood and flowers. Place the mango leaves around the Kalasha and place the coconut on top of them. A cloth is wrapped around the coconut. It is natural to have doubts about what to do with the coconut put on tha kalasha after the puja is over.
we can immerse that coconut in any nearby reservoir Or we can give it to the Brahmins during the nomas-vratas, t Scholars say that there is nothing wrong with giving like this. In the temples, the coconuts used for this kalasha are used for 'Poornahuti'.
