ASIO chief boss has revealed a former politician was serving in parliament when they “sold out” the country to a foreign regime, in an interview with SBS News.
Mike Burgess originally announced the revelation while outlining the greatest threats facing Australia in an address to Canberra on Wednesday.
Australia’s National Security Agency leader has not revealed the former politician’s name or party.
There have been calls for the ASIO Director General to reveal the name of the former politician following the revelations.
The Nationals believe the name should be public to increase awareness about the work of foreign operatives.
