Webinar held on 15th December 2015 at the ICLEI World Secretariat
The rapid rate of urban growth and proliferation of informal settlements in highly vulnerable locations adds to the complexity of urban resilience and adaptation, especially in cities struggling to reduce poverty and increase economic growth. This webinar will focus on examples and lessons learned on working with residents living in informal settlements/slums with the aim of reducing their vulnerability to disasters and including them in the urban resilience plans. It will shed light on successful approaches on how to directly include slum dwellers in resilience planning and implementation from data collection to participatory green infrastructure measures.
