Thousands of Dubai residents on Friday night crowded the Burj Khalifa as the world’s tallest tower ushered in the new year with a spectacular fireworks display.
The rockets, thought to be the world’s highest pyrotechnic show, were accompanied by an hour-long music, sound and light extravaganza from the Dubai Fountain.
The three-minute show was beamed around the world by live television feeds flanking the 828-metre-tall tower.
