John Neville is a Corkonian with a very special connection to the river Lee. As an engineer overseeing the giant cranes that dominate the skyline along the lower reaches of the Lee, John has worked on the banks of the lovely Lee for some forty years. This song was inspired by the stories told over the odd pint of stout at Johns session in the Gables Bar in Douglas Street, Cork.
