According to an article on CNN, US scientists have created the first living robots, known as xenobots, which can now reproduce in a way not seen in plants and animals. These tiny blobs were formed from the stem cells of the African clawed frog (Xenopus laevis) and are less than a millimeter wide1. They were first unveiled in 2020 after experiments showed that they could move, work together in groups, and self-heal1.
