In recent years, the cryptocurrency market has attracted an enormous amount of interest from users, and Avalanche stands at the forefront of this ongoing revolution. Many cryptocurrency experts forecast substantial growth in the Avalanche smart contracts platform during the 2020s.
MetaMask, developed and released by ConsenSys Software in 2016, is a popular cryptocurrency wallet that many users use to carry out transactions with the Ethereum blockchain. It is accessible via mobile apps (iPhone & Android) as well as desktop browser extensions (Chrome, Firefox, Brave, & Edge).
If you’ve recently acquired AVAX—Avalanche’s native token—you may be interested in withdrawing it to your MetaMask wallet. The good news is that this is a fairly simple procedure that can be completed in literally under a minute. There are several ways to do it, but the easiest method involves simply following the steps in the video tutorial we have laid out for you here.
In this tutorial, we show you how to send AVAX from an exchange to MetaMask. The process involves an exchange (like okcoin) to MetaMask via C-Chain withdrawal.
The step-by-step procedure for sending AVAX to MetaMask runs as follows:
1. Go to your exchange website (e.g., okcoin.com)
2. Press the Withdraw button
3. On the next screen, select AVAX as your currency, and AVAX C-Chain as your withdrawal network
4. Press the Continue button
5. On the next screen, insert the appropriate MetaMask address in the Address field (with the copy-and-paste function, if not already populated), and the appropriate sum in the Amount field
6. Press the Continue button
7. When the Security Verification box pops up, type your password and push the Confirm Withdrawal button
You're done! Your AVAX has been successfully withdrawn and moved to your MetaMask wallet. Now you have the funds you need for interacting with decentralized applications (dapps) on Avalanche. The details of your withdrawal should be viewable in the transactions or activity tab.
About Avalanche
Released in September 2020, Avalanche has already established a reputation as one of the most dynamic decentralized, open-source smart contracts platforms in the world of cryptocurrency. Offering nearly instantaneous transaction finality, Avalanche has three built-in blockchains that are validated by the platform's Primary Network: Exchange Chain (X-Chain), Platform Chain (P-Chain), and Contract Chain (C-Chain).
- Exchange Chain (X-Chain) - Used for creating and trading digital assets (including AVAX).
- Platform Chain (P-Chain) - A metadata blockchain that manages validators, active subnets, creation of new subnets, and staking.
- Contract Chain (C-Chain) - Used for the creation of smart contracts (with the C-Chain API), and enables access to many popular dapps.
Avalanche includes a wide range of tools developers need to launch custom blockchains, build Solidity-compatible dapps, and much more. Join the legions of cryptocurrency users from across the globe who have benefited from the power and flexibility of the Avalanche platform. Avalanche offers many advantages that other decentralized protocols cannot equal, such as a very high level of data security and eco-friendly operational efficiency.
