Line posts:
Line posts allow cable to pass through and provide cable support as well as structural support for your top rail. They do not provide any cable tension.
Inflection point:
A point of inflection is the location on a slope where the slope changes direction. With cable railing, this is where a cable enters a tensioning mechanism affixed to an intermediate post, because it will run horizontally through the post and then — with another inflection point — return to a sloping direction.
