On the 20th anniversary of 9/11 and in conjunction with the Navy vs. Air Force football game, the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association and Foundation hosted its Honor our Fallen Heroes events recognizing families of alumni killed in action and operational losses. Families who attended the event gathered for a luncheon prior to the game with remarks offered by Superintendent VADM Sean S. Buck ’83, USN, Alumni Association and Foundation leaders and special guests including Gen John R. Allen ’76, USMC (Ret.), and The Hon. Carlos Del Toro ’83, 78th Secretary of the Navy. The families of the fallen alumni were recognized and honored during half time with a performance of “America the Beautiful” from the USNA Drum and Bugle Corps and the USNA Glee Club.
