This compilation of "Groove Merchant" (a composition of Jerome Richardson) was made to compare the sound of two Selmer Tenor Saxophones: a Selmer Super Balanced Action (serial 50xxx) of 1952 and a Selmer Super Action 80 (serial 345xxx) of 1983. The track was compiled from three different takes. Both saxophones are played with an Otto Link Florida no USA 10* mouthpiece and a La Voz medium reed.
