In this lesson, I discuss how I use thumb position below the 1 octave harmonic on the double bass. This is a great way to create new textures and sounds which I demonstrate with a composition of mine at the start of the lesson for solo double bass. It features an introduction using lower thumb position and a repeating riff which shifts around the fingerboard, so covers a lot of different techniques.
