Employees of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) have been staging protests across the State since early on Saturday in response to Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan's refusal to allow the RTC-Government merger bill to be introduced in the Assembly. From 6 am to 8 am, employees of the Corporation wore black badges, shouted anti-Governor chants, and abstained from work, halting bus service in several regions.
The Governor has called the RTC staff into the Raj Bhavan for discussions as the protest grows in intensity and an extensive rally is organised in front of the Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad.
Additionally, she made an attempt to put out the flames by tweeting that she was "pain[ed] to know about the strike," which she said caused trouble to the general people. She asserted that when she was dealing with the RTC staff, she was "carefully studying" the law "because their rights should be protected."
In Many Districts RTC Staff members boycotted their duties today and started protests infront of their respective depots in which
Adilabad, Nirmal, Mancherial, Bhainsa, Karimnagar, Warangal, Nalgonda, Khammam and Asifabad boycotted duties from 6 am to 8 am.
Staff and Worker Federation (SWF) leaders YN Rao and Jacob, National Mazdoor Union (NMU) leader Prasad and Telangana Mazdoor Union (TMU) leader Suresh speaking to the media condemned the Governor’s alleged negligence attitude towards the RTC workers.
