Former UK PM Boris Johnson's relationship with BBC Chairman Richard Sharp has come under scrutiny in recent days. The Sunday Times reported that Sharp helped arrange a guarantee for a loan of up to 800,000 pounds. Amid this BBC Chairman Richard Sharp is facing calls for an investigation into his appointment. Sharp said he will not stand down while a review into his appointment is underway. Sharp shared that he had he had introduced an old friend who wanted to help Johnson in late 2020. Speaking in an interview to the BBC, Sharp said he was confident the review will determine he was appointed on 'merit'. Meanwhile, BBC said it played no role in the recruitment and any questions were a matter for the government. Moreover, BBC is also facing hatred in India over the controversial documentary on Indian PM Narendra Modi.
