Ms Samia Liaquat Ali Khan has worked in the field of Human Rights & Development for over 20 years, with experience in Pakistan and overseas. She has successfully led regional and global development teams and programmes which incorporated rights-based approaches to poverty reduction. Samia has undertaken programme evaluations for Womankind Worldwide, Sightsavers, and International Planned Parenthood Foundation (IPPF), among others. Her publications include ‘Poverty Reduction Strategy Papers: Failing Minorities and Indigenous peoples’, MRG London, June 2010.
Currently, Ms Khan is working as Senior Group Head – Graduation Group, with the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund. She is leading the National Poverty Graduation Programme with the aim of supporting poorest households out of poverty. Her educational background includes an MSc in Development Studies (University of London) as well as a Masters’ in Public Administration from Columbia University (New York).
