Govt on Wednesday, 2 September, banned the popular online game PUBG along with 117 other chines apps. The apps "are engaged in activities which are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order,” a statement form IT Ministry said. The move comes after the escalating tensions between India and China in eastern Ladakh.
In June, the Modi govt had banned 59 mobile apps including TikTok, Alibaba's UC Browser also citing security concerns
