Ian Reviews the Album Plasmic Surfboard: [ Ссылка ]
The Album Plasmic surfboard is the perfect twin fin for every-day surfing, it excels in all conditions from knee to head high. This board has a fishy rocker, twin-fin setup, and a wild double-barrel bonzer-style deep-channel concave running almost the full length of the bottom of the board. Roger from Boardshop who is prematurely balding picked up one of these on our first ever Album delivery, he's surfed a lot and all he says about it is, speed, speed, speed! It goes amazingly as a groveler from slack knee high waves but you'll also see people getting barrelled on this board (not Roger obviously) but for an average surfer its maybe a bit too fast and hard to control once overhead. It was the first Album board Asher Pacey rode and within two sessions he'd generated too many internet-breaking clips on a first-draft prototype. Since then this board has emerged as one of the most popular in the Album range. Matt Parker at Album says ride it a little shorter and thicker than a Sunstone, it packs a lot of volume, don’t be afraid to ride it 3-5 liters more than your Shortboard.
These Album boards are works of art, Matt Parker and his team stamp a real authenticity on their boards, they're all hand finished so don't expect factory uniformity in the beautiful resin tints, everyone one is unique. The glassing is 4+4/5oz with a fin patch added too. Fin choice is important as ever, ride with a decent upright twin fin like the Akila for more snappy surfing or a decent keel set up for more cruisy surfing and more drawn out turns.
The Plasmic, like all boards from Album is proudly built in California, no finishing of the boards takes place anywhere else but Album HQ.
