Today, we celebrated an age-old maritime tradition—our first equator crossing ceremony aboard the Villa Vie Odyssey! 🛳️ This unforgettable event was filled with laughter, camaraderie, and a whole lot of fun. 🎉🌺
The festivities began with our captain leading the way. 🧑✈️ In true seafaring style, he was the first to kiss the ceremonial fish 🐠, receive a colorful lei 🌈🌸, and take a plunge into the pool. 💦 A cheer erupted as the rest of us lined up to follow suit, ready to honor this timeless ritual. 🙌✨
One by one, we kissed the fish 🐟, donned our leis 🌺, and got thoroughly soaked 💧 in celebration of this once-in-a-lifetime moment. For Johan and me, it was an initiation into the elite club of “Shellbacks” 🌊—a rite of passage for anyone crossing the equator for the very first time. 🗺️🌎
The joy and excitement were infectious as we marked this milestone together with fellow passengers. 😄 From the vibrant leis 🌈 to the refreshing splash 💦, every part of the ceremony was steeped in tradition and the shared spirit of adventure. 🚢✨
