After having been looking for a Peugeot 504 Coupé of the last generation (1980-1983) in the color that I wanted for more than one year in Germany, I finally found the right one that was for sale on a French site ([ Ссылка ]) in march 2013.
Then it took another 5 months until September 2013 before I had time to personally pick it up in Paris. Here are the pictures that the seller had sent when we were negotiating via email.
Two practical tips if you want to import a classic car from France into another EU-country.
1. Insurance: I booked a temporary insurance from a French provider (assurance temporaire). You can book the insurance for one or several days or several days. You should book it for enough time, until the car can be registered in your home country. I can tell from my own experience that it can easily come to unforeseen obstacles at technical control and to obtain the “oldtimer” status.
2. Second, the purchase contract. In France the seller and the buyer must fill out a specific form in 3 copies ("Déclaration de cession d'un véhicule"). You can download it from here:

In addition, the seller shall give the buyer the French certificate of registration (carte grise), that he shall score out, writing "vendu" (sold) and the date on it.
