A tropical storm will form this weekend, and it could develop into a hurricane as it approaches Florida. Heavy rain and storms near Mexico, Belize, and Cuba will organize. This area will lift north near the Cayman Islands and Cuba, and enter the Gulf of Mexico. On Monday, it should spin up into a name system, then move into Florida late Tuesday and Wednesday.
How much it intensifies and exactly where it moves in are questions that remain. That makes sense — it is still early, and it hasn't even formed at all yet. The water temperatures being so warm remain a big concern.
Tropical Storm Franklin will become a hurricane, and move to the west of Bermuda. It will lift close to the Atlantic Region of Canada later next week.
The remnants of Gert are bringing rain and storms to Barbados.
It's busy for sure! The peak of the Hurricane Season is September 10th.
