After a 7 year overhaul, LNER A4 4-6-2 No 4498 Sir Nigel Gresley returned to service at the 2022 Severn Valley Railway Spring Steam Gala. Wearing its temporary LNER Wartime Black Livery, the locomotive departs Kidderminster with a service for Bridgnorth.
The train is mostly made up of Gresley Teak Coaches which creates a sight not seen since the end of World War 2. The A4 afterward the gala will be repainted into British Railways Lined Blue livery before resuming its mainline career.
