Endoscopic hand-suturing for defect closure after gastric endoscopic submucosal dissection: a pilot study in animals and in humans
Osamu Goto, Motoki Sasaki, Teppei Akimoto et al.
Reliable and complete mucosal wound closure after endoscopic resections could potentially be a solution for risks associated with these interventions, particularly delayed bleeding. The authors evaluate a novel technique of endoscopic hand-suturing, using an absorbable barbed suture to close gastric mucosal defects created by endoscopic submucosal dissection, in an in vivo animal model and in consecutive human patients with encouraging results
