In this video I review Phil Town’s Rule #1 Free Investing Workshop in Atlanta. I give my experience of attending the in-person workshop in Atlanta back in July 2019. Find out what I learned, and if it’s worth attending!

The workshop includes key elements from Phil Town’s Rule #1 Investing including the 4M’s.

- Meaning
- Moat
- Management
- Margin of Safety

It also focusses on the 3 valuation methods which Phil uses.

- 10 Cap
- Payback Time
- Margin of Safety

Once you have applied all of the above methods you need to counter your reason for wanting to buy the shares of your wonderful company. These are called the inversions and rebuttals. You need to flip the story on its head and look at why you should not to buy the stock, and then come back with a reasoned argument on how the company can overcome any of these problems.

Once we have found a wonderful company, have a valuation, and have completed the inversions and rebuttals we just need to wait for an event to put the company on sale so we can buy at our margin of safety price.

One part of the course I found really interesting was looking into different options trading strategies to complement the value investing approach. Phil makes a key differentiation between the long term investing and short term trading mindset. This is something which you need to master to be successful in each discipline.

You will cover call and put options and also get introduced to some basic options trading strategies such as a Bull Put Spread and Iron Condor.
