Is stomach pain during/after sex considered normal?

Causes:

Some potential causes of stomach pain during sex are:

Muscle strains - Strain on the pelvic and abdominal muscles during sex can lead to cramping. These cramps usually dissipate within a minute.
Orgasm - An orgasm causes contraction of the muscles in the pelvis and pelvic floor.
If these muscles continue to contract, they may cause temporary cramps after sex.
Bowel issues - Digestive system issues can also cause abdominal cramping. Two common causes of stomach pain after sex are constipation and gas
Other bowel problems, such as irritable bowel syndrome, can also be a cause.
Urinary problems - Problems with the urinary system or bladder can cause pain after sex.

In addition, women can suffer from stomach pain during sex because of:
Deep penetration - Deep penetration which hits the cervix, can cause irritation and cramping.
Ovarian cysts - Sometimes, a cyst grows in the ovary. While these cysts are not normally dangerous, they can cause pain or discomfort after sex.
Some other causes of cramps which may require treatment are fibroids, vaginismus, endometriosis etc.
