"It was born as an alternative rock project in 2012, founded by Miguel Corvus and Carolus Cat together with ephemeral musicians who have gone through their journey with the exception of Jack Vé who intermittently gave support until 2021, with the evolution and intentional direction he was bordering on atmospheres darker approaching the gothic scene, as a result of recording the song ""Cuervos Voraces"" Carolus Cat (who has had collaborations with Red Apple Cvlt from Costa Rica and Löst from the Dominican Republic) decides to make a style influenced by the sound of the 80s and 90s of gothic rock, post-punk, new wave, darkwave, folk baptized as gloom rock, which leads to Cat and Corvus staying at the head of the project, assisted by support musicians, between ups and downs and existential problems they find more chemistry and inspiration, among several songs they decide to choose 13 songs to create the album ""Garden Of Gloom"" releasing it at the end of 2018, highlighting songs like ""Cursed sign"" ""On My Grave"" ""Dust (Escom bros UK version)” “Perverse Democracy” and his most recent single premiered with video clip ""No Second Part"" songs played on FM radio and online radio programs or appearing in reviews in UK, Italy, Canada, USA, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Switzerland, Greece, Germany, France, Peru, etc. successively appearing in some digital and physical compilations, having plans to start a tour of cities in the Mexican territory, South America and a couple of dates in the USA that unfortunately due to Sar-Cov2 they saw the need to stop the project, in 2020 Corvus leaves the group, Carolus Cat leader of Animal Rojo, realigns the band to continue with the presentations and work on his next second album ""Saints, killer love and misanthropy"".
By February 2022 Corvus rejoins the project.Animal Rojo collects sentimental and existential crises and literary and sound influences such as The Sisters Of Mercy, Indochine, Nosferatu, The Wake, Leonard Cohen, The Cure, Heroes Del Silencio, Echo and The Bunnymen, The 69eyes, Lacrimas Profundere, The Mission UK, Joy Division, Modern English, Rosetta Stone, Draco Rosa, Funhouse, Baudelaire, Poe, Sabines, John Keats, among others. They have shared the stage with international bands such as the scene: She Past Away, Ariel Maniki and The Black Halos, Diavol Stràin, Severance, Acid Bads, Lúcida Fila, Capitals and in metal such as Exentria, having acceptance in the gothic wave in local media, national and international, returning to the revival and maintaining the goth movement at this time.
