Puente Colgante El Saltillo is a suspension bridge over Rio Almanchares, close to the village Canillas de Aceituno in the province of Málaga.

The path to the bridge follows an irrigation ditch and starts right above the village. I currently live in Cómpeta, and since I don’t have a car, I walked all the way from Cómpeta and back.

It turned out to be one of my toughest hikes, mostly because of the heat: 52km in 34C. But it was worth it. The suspension bridge was quite exciting.

If you want to visit the bridge, I recommend approaching it from the safer Canillas de Aceituno side and not from Sedella (even though that’s possible).
