In this live demonstration I will show you how you can build retrieval, task and autonomous capability in Copilot Studio for an IT Helpdesk scenario. Using Knowledge from SharePoint we see "retrieval" capability, using Connector Actions in the form of Get Item and Send Email we achieve "task" and then we look at what "autonomous" is, by enabling the agent to trigger via a Power Automate Cloud Flow, responding to incoming emails and providing the customer with an automated response based on our Generative capabilities in the form of Generative Actions and Answers.
The IT Helpdesk has a series of policy documents that allows the Agent to retrieve and generate answers on. They also have a helpdesk system in the form of a SharePoint List but equally this could be Service Now or equivalent and the agent can run tasks using Generative Actions and find out the latest on a request. Finally whilst this can all be achieved via a chat bot style interface, the autonomos agent can trigger when an email arrives and deal with the users request using the Generative Actions and Answers, sending them an update via email. This feature is in preview but demonstrates the shift in thinking, will we need to deal with agents via the traditional chat interface?
