Short Intro of Indus River, Sindh River...!!
The Indus River, also known as Tibetan Sindhu, Sanskrit Sindhu, and Sindhi Sindhu, is a great trans-Himalayan river in South Asia. The river has a length of about 2,000 miles (3,200 km), making it one of the longest in the world. Its total drainage area is about 450,000 square miles (1,165,000 square km), of which 175,000 square miles (453,000 square km) lie in the ranges and foothills of the Himalayas, the Hindu Kush, and the Karakoram Range; the rest is in the semiarid plains of Pakistan. Flows from the river are about 58 cubic miles (243 cubic km) per year, twice as much as the Nile River and three times the combined flow from the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. The river's conventional name is derived from the Tibetan and Sanskrit name Sindhu.
Unlike the rivers of East Asia, which have strongly interacted as a result of eastward propagating deformation in that area, the Indus has remained uninterrupted and represents the oldest known river in the Himalayan region.
