True Aura is an animation I created for the ConnectHER film festival scholarship.
This scholarship is aimed towards filmmakers aged 13-25 and focused on themes of women’s struggles. I chose to create an animation based around “redefining beauty.”
One of my artistic hobbies, for years now, has been developing a particular universe in which "mahdons" live on planet Mah. Mah is home to a people completely based on their own individual colors. True Aura tells the story of Arsenic Mayhem, a mahdon girl who is insecure about her dark red hue, and struggles to eventually see the beauty in herself.
My hope is to keep releasing music under the alias, "Arsenic Mayhem" and maybe turn Arsenic's story into a TV show, or perhaps express "Arsenic" as a character through various other forms of artistic media (fashion lines, beauty product lines, etc.). My amateur music, art and animations are only the beginning. If I were to continue my animation pursuits as a career, this may essentially serve as a pilot episode.
