I was asked on why a compiler issue would happen in the RSLogix 500 programming environment and found a couple of interesting causes along with fixes.
I am sure that these are not the only causes but are the most common, there are several RA Tech notes covered and the reasoning behind them makes perfect sense.
One to the tech notes talks about the processor's bits being a cause, and the other tech note agrees but also shows two other causes as well.
One is an invalid data type or use in the program which is common if you have an existing program but what if the RSlogix 500 program is brand new or you're in the RSLogix Micro Starter kit software?
Then it could very well be a firmware issue or processor type.
