Last week, two passenger buses collided leaving nine persons dead in Lucena City. Before that, a mishap in Quezon City involving another bus killed a three year-old girl and severely injured her mother. While there are no concrete data involving buses, numbers from the Department of Health show that road accidents are among the leading causes of mortality in the country. Are there enough laws to punish offenders?
