A photographer captured some stunning footage of Mount Etna erupting.

Vincenzo Modica, from Catania, Italy, filmed the images on January 18, as smoke billowed from the volcano followed by lava.

The eruption involved all of Etna’s four summit craters and lasted throughout the afternoon and evening.

Vincenzo said: “It was amazing to watch!”
