Nelson is known for its beautiful landscape, arts and crafts, and sunny weather. It is the second oldest city in New Zealand and the oldest city in the South Island in New Zealand.
In this video we are going to show you some of the free but fun activities to do in Nelson and our short stop to Motueka.
We wandered around the upper Trafalgar Street. This street is littered with cafes, bars, and restaurants. There is an option for al-fresco dining to people in need of vitamin D or those who prefer fresh air.
Straight ahead we crossed the street and saw the iconic landmark in Nelson the Christchurch Cathedral. Its an Anglican Church built in the 1800s. Inside the church there are stained glass windows made up of several coloured glass pieces from different angles.
Whilst in the city we did the city mural walk. With map in hand, we navigated our way around the streets to view the different murals.
The following day, we went to Motueka, a small town approximately 35 minutes’ drive from Nelson. We had lunch at a café famous for its donuts and a walk along the beach to a shipwreck.
We drove back to Nelson to do a short walk to the Botanical Hill. The summit offers a panoramic view of Nelson.
