Prime Minister Narender Modi announced that the government has decided to repeal the three farm laws, which led to massive protests by farmer unions for the past year. In the announcement, PM addressed that these laws were for the benefit of small farmers. However, he said that the government had to withdraw the laws as they failed to make the farmers understand the benefits. The process of rolling back the laws will take place in the Parliament’s winter session.
