Author Jeffrey Frank has written a searching account of Harry Truman’s presidency. With his “buck stops here” attitude, Truman accomplished the rebuilding of Europe with the Marshall Plan, the formation of NATO, the recognition of the State of Israel, deterring China’s aggression in Korea, all with a bipartisan foreign policy. Jeffrey tells Jim Zirin of lessons Biden could learn from Truman’s stubborn approach to the presidency.
