Spearfishing is my passion and the reason I moved to New Zealand for one year, just looking to experience new environments and dive a bit all over North Island and South Island. This is a common species there but very rare in Portugal, where I am from. So knowing it is one of the best eating fish in the world I really wanted to find my first one here. I was lucky to find this guy on a shore dive off of Rabit Island and I was super stoked with this capture. The fish was shared with my wife and a couple friends.
