Olympus has just launched the M.Zuiko 100-400mm F5-6.3 IS lens. This lens has the longest reach for Olympus M.Zuiko lenses. I have had the lens with me for several weeks now and have tested it extensively. Here is my full review video, with plenty of sample images. The Olympus 100-400mm is fully weather sealed (with IPX1 rating), has built in image stabilization, features superb optical construction with 21 elements in 15 groups lens design and has full compatibility with existing Olympus teleconverters, MC14 and MC20, extending the reach even further up to 800mm! The lens is still perfectly hand-holdable and this is a lighter, non-PRO and definitely a more affordable version than the coming M.Zuiko 150-400mm F4.5 IS PRO lens.
I had so much fun shooting with this lens! It delivers consistently sharp images and I am sure bird and wildlife photography enthusiasts who do not want to burn a hole in their wallet will appreciate this Olympus 100-400mm lens. If you are a PRO and you want the best of the best, wait for the 150-400mm PRO lens!
