I had the opportunity to visit an indigenous Kichwa community when I was in the Ecuadorian Amazon and learn about their unique and amazing culture.
In this video, one of the community leaders shows us large exposed rock face that acts as a central site of historical and cultural significance. The community was built around this rock and its natural formed carvings illustrate various animals found in the jungle and symbols that represent some of the community's values.
*I was given permission to record and post everything that we experienced in order to share their culture with others.
If you are curious to learn more, this particular community is called the "Comunidad Shiripuno".
