The MacKenzie's Martial Arts school of southern New Jersey celebrated its 30th anniversary in the fall of 2013. Our annual Swim Party was held at the Hammonton Swim Club in Hammonton, NJ, June 19, 2013, on Grandmaster Kenneth P. MacKenzie's birthday. MacKenzie's Martial Arts opened another location in Hammonton, NJ, and it became a success. Grandmasters Kenneth P. MacKenzie and Scott E. Yates put family and the community first and then, their martial arts. There always has been a strong connection between the students, the parents, and all the instructors. Grandmasters MacKenzie and Yates got to train with many world class instructors like, DoJuNim Ji, Han Jae, the late General Choi Hong Hi, and his successor, Kwang Sung Hwang. Grandmaster Hwang promoted Grandmaster MacKenzie to fifth dan in tae kwon do. You can really sense a feeling of family and community as well as the seriousness they take in the growth of their world class martial arts. Grandmaster Ken MacKenzie has three grown children. Both Grandmasters MacKenzie and Yates have appeared regularly in the magazine, Tae Kwon Do Times, and have traveled and taught around the world and across the United States and Canada. They especially enjoy working with and teaching children and teenagers.
