✨ The second episode of our lighting tutorial series with Rodney Charters ASC, best known for his work as cinematographer on series like 24, Shameless, Magnum P.I., The Last Ship, The Shannara Chronicles and Dallas, plus movies like Going in Style. In the video he sets the scene for an emotional drama unfolding in a family home. The characters move through the whole house and each room is lit to appear completely natural. Well placed lighting allows him to shoot continuously as the characters walk around.
🎬 Together with his team of John ‘Biggles’ Higgins (@bigglessw7) as lighting consultant, gaffer Elena Armellini, desk operator Samuel Hilaire and electrician Joe Kennedy, he demonstrates how to light the location for a warm inviting vibe. Powerful NANLUX Evoke 2400B LED spotlights are used shining in from the exterior to create colder ‘daylight’ which contrasts with warmer lights inside the house. Impressively the Evoke 2400B lights were powered from regular household power sockets. NANLITE PavoBulb 10C lights are used as practicals to replace the existing household bulbs, creating the illusion of tungsten lights but with the benefit of full control and high output. NANLITE PavoTube II 6C/30XR lights are also used for fill.
Follow along as the team works and see how each space is lit with their creativity and expertise, with the help of NANLUX and NANLITE LED lights working their magic.
