In this short video, we address why it is not a good idea to name a minor child as a beneficiary on beneficiary designation forms. The assets may be delayed in being distributed until they reach 18, at which point, the lump sum amount will be immediately accessible, when a person may not be financially responsible enough to manage funds on their own.
