Watch along as Larry Potterfield, Founder and CEO of MidwayUSA, demonstrates the process for preparing a Mauser for a new bolt handle. He'll start by applying some layout dye to the original bolt handle and scribing a cutoff line. A cutoff wheel, mounted to a rotary tool, is used to remove the handle. Once the old handle has been removed, the new handle is prepared for welding. A 30-degree line is scribed onto the handle and then clamped in a vise. The root of the handle is then filed down to the line. The handle is now ready to be placed in a fixture for welding.
