The initial checkout of a Lakewood 3rd generation box fan, model 223.. These were one of the last models that had a full-size motor with oil ports, and arguably the last fans made to last.. It has elements of the cheap era showing up in the design, but is still relatively well made and should run for many years to come, as most vintage fans do..
The blade appears to be significantly out of balance and the handle is deteriorating, likely from sun exposure.. Aside from those two defects, the unit is in good condition with little-no rusting.. The guards, while heavily yellowed, do not have any broken slats.. The unit does have provisions for feet to be installed in the back, I am not sure if these shipped with feet or not; regardless they are no longer present..
