Benjamin Woodroffe, born in South Australia, completed a Bachelor of Architecture with Honours at the University of Adelaide with majors in French, Art and Urban History. Moving to Melbourne led to a 10 year period as General Manager of Chamber Music Australia, the presenting organisation of the Melbourne International and Asia-Pacific Chamber Music Competitions.

With a commitment to discovering and rewarding young musicians from around the globe, Benjamin was appointed Secretary General of the World Federation of International Music Competitions in 2015. Representing and promoting over 120 member competitions, the World Federation of International Music Competitions will hold its 60th General Assembly in Yerevan, Armenia in June 2016. This gathering of competition directors and industry leaders provides a vital forum for debate and review to ensure all members strive for artistic excellence and invaluable career opportunities for young laureates.
